ICx Imaging Systems is rapidly gaining industry recognition as a leader in the development, custom design and manufacture of multi-spectral imaging systems that combine thermal imaging, low light visible cameras, and high-powered lighting systems for surveillance applications.

The company started operations as Digital Imaging, Inc in 1989 and was purchased in 2005 by ICx Technologies. ICx Imaging Systems is now a business unit of the ICx Surveillance Division. Positioned to work closely with other business units, ICx Imaging Systems offers a variety of products in the areas of detection, surveillance, software and systems, and active deterrence. Nirav Pandya , who first joined the company as an engineer, today serves as the company's General Manager.

The company was founded by James Van Anda , who remains on the staff as the Chief Technology Advisor. Building upon his expertise in the video recording field, the company evolved toward more complex applications and centered in 1991 on the just-emerging science of infrared imaging.

The company continued to develop new applications and went on to design and manufacture core infrared and mechanical electronics for a handheld thermal imager utilized for nationwide firefighting applications. This platform provided the springboard for further development of more sophisticated engineering prototypes designed to solve a wider range of imaging challenges. Fully productized in 2004, the flagship products include the VisionIR, a fixed IR system, and the DefendIR, a composite system integrating CCTV video and IR on a unique pan and tilt platform.

It's highly specialized cameras detect infrared radiation, enabling the user to see in adverse conditions including total darkness, smoke, haze and most types of fog. The DefendIR's unique VisionSense ™ Technology, merges the thermal image with a visible light image to provide enhanced viewing abilities. All cameras are designed for customization and easy integration into existing systems.
